Style your shape – pear shaped body

Capture.JPG

You have a Pear Shaped Body if you have:

  • larger hips than your bust
  • a nicely defined waist
  • an elegant neck and proportionately slim arms and shoulders

DO’S:

  • Wear A-line skirts, because they skim over hips
  • Wear heels, they lengthen and slim legs
  • Invest in waisted belts, because they draw attention to your already slim waist

DON’TS:

  • Avoid wide-leg jeans, because these make your legs appear wider
  • Mini skirts or any other hemline that finishes on your hips, thighs or any other full point of your leg
  • Avoid smock dresses

Jil Sander Names New Creative Directors

JIL SANDER has announced this morning that husband-and-wife designers Luke and Lucie Meier are taking the helm at the brand, confirming months of speculation and following the departure of Rodolfo Paglialunga last month.

While both have years of experience in the industry – Lucie has previously worked for Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton, before heading up, alongside Serge Ruffieux, the design studios at Dior under Raf Simons and taking the reins between his exit and Maria Grazia Chiruri’s arrival, and Luke is the cofounder of menswear brand OAMC – this will be the first time that the couple has worked together.

Fashion Shows continue to showcase more older models

PicMonkey CollageMore models over 50 walked the runways this season than any “in recent memory.”

True style is timeless ― and apparently ageless, too.

There were over four times as many models over age 50 in the Fall 2017 fashion shows as there were employed for Spring 2016, according to theFashionSpot’s newest diversity report.

According to the report, “21 models over age 50 walked the runways of New York, Paris, London and Milan.”

It’s a whopping 160 percent increase over Spring 2016, when only five were hired.

“Women in their 50s, 60s and onward turned up more this fashion month than during any season in recent memory,” the report authors wrote.

In Europe, age inclusivity is happening faster than other factors like size.

Still, the report called fall 2017 a “banner season” for diversity, signaling that just like the models featured, fashion month just keeps getting better with age.
