Do you have an inverted triangle shaped body?

The main traits of an inverted triangle shaped body are :

  • Shoulders are noticeably wider than your hip-line
  • You may have strong-looking shoulders
  • Your body figure may project a sporty and athletic physique
  • Great legs often come with this body shape
  • Your hips look straight given your shoulders being broad
  • You have little to no waist definition

The main aim to style your shape:

  • Create Curves Around Your Bottom
  • Soften Your Shoulders

Dos

  • It is very important to wear clothes that created volume to you lower half (like Fuller skirts: full circle, ruffles, tiers, etc.; Boot-cut, flare and wide leg jeans and pants etc.)
  • You should wear nipped jackets, tops and sweaters to fake curved hips and make your waist look smaller and defined
  • Wear waist defining tops, shirts, dresses, sweaters and jackets, they will create a waist line and add curves to your silhouette
  • You should wear top relatively simple and smooth to avoid drawing to much attention to your wide shoulders.

Dont’s

  • You shouldn’t wear bright or light colours and graphics or pattern on your top half as it has a widening effect
  • Avoid vertical details which will only make your lower half look slimmer
  • Don’t wear necklines that make you broader on top, boat or bardot, big straps, halter neck tops, big shawl collars or scarves
  • You shouldn’t wear styles that extend or accentuate shoulders: details, volume, fuss on shoulders such as puff sleeves, shoulder pads
